QuestionSeveral of my plants (on north side of house) have yellow leaves (ends are brown). Too much sun? Live near coast in San Diego. Used to have large trees with more shade but neighbors removed them.
AnswerAnn Marie:
These plants prefer shade and moist, but well drained , sometimes poor soil to do their best. Too much direct sun can give them a sun burn. I am not aware of this problem starting with leaf yellowing, just starts w/browning. Uniform yellowing of leaves then brown tips as you describe may indicate a soil related stress eg. too much or not enough water. I do not suspect a disease or insect based on your description.
