QuestionI have a sick magnolia tree. It Bloomed the best ever this year and its now spitting out a clear sticky sap. What can I do?
AnswerMarie:
More than likely, this clear, sticky substance is the product of an insect feeding on your tree or on a plant above it. This stuff is called "honeydew" or insect "poo". Select an insecticide based on what the insect is that is causing this stuff. Search the leaves and snip off a leaf or two and carry to your local garden center to get an ID and a chemical recommendation.
