Question
I have had my schefflera plant for at least 25 years.  It has developed some type of fungus or something on it, that looks like white cottage cheese has been splattered on both sides of the leaves.  Now, it is starting to grow on my spider plant which was sitting beside it.  Can you please tell me what it is, and how to treat it?

Hi Lavonne:
Is your plant in a pot? Has anything been sprayed or allowed to drip on the plants? Can you send me a closeup photo of this "cottage cheese" stuff. I cannot visualize this material enough to id. Review your image on your computer first; to be sure it is in focus before  sending.  A photo may help quite a bit.
