QuestionI have a potted evergreen that I have had on my patio for years. It started turning brown on one side and the needles started falling off. I think it became to small for the pot so I have repotted it in potting soil, but am not sure what I should do next to try and coax it back to health.
AnswerLinda:
These plants prefer a well drained soil. Be sure not to overwater it. It should be watered well at repotting time, then left alone for a few days until next watering. Many of these plants can get spider mites that can turn the needles brown. You might want to carry a small affected twig into your local garden center/nursery and ask if they see any spider mites.
