QuestionWe have two yoshino cherry trees. One on either side of the drive. One tree has bloomed and is full of leaves, appears to be quite healthy. The other tree is full of buds but the buds will not open. I have cut into some of the buds and they appear green inside and limbs are green under bark and pliable.

This one is a head scratch-er for me. I am assuming that both trees have budded out together in previous years. Difficult to say. If after examining the one tree and it if it has no apparent issues with loose bark or other abnormality, it may be an environmental issue. Could a cold snap affected the one tree and not the other? Has it been exposed to anything out of the normal? You might want to run your question by your local nursery/garden center. If you have a local garden center that has a good reputation -may be a good start.
