QuestionI have hedges along the front of my house. Every spring it gets covered in spider webs and stays that way all summer. Is there something i can spray, to get rid of these spiders ,that won't harm my hedges?
AnswerMichael:
Spiders should not cause a problem, other than cosmetic. They may be there for a regular steady meal of insects that could be a pest. We don't normally consider spiders a pest, unless they are in the house. Take a look around to determine if the spiders are feasting on a pest or not. There are a group of insecticides called pyrethrins that you might try. It would need to come in direst contact with the spider since this group has no residual. Check in with your local garden center for some specific suggestions.
