QuestionMy healthy aloe vera plant is showing signs of rot. I brought it into the house for the winter. I first saw small specks of reddish dots on a few leaves. Later I noticed some leaves at the base of the plant had turned dark and watery with a thin weak leaves near the soil. I have pulled them off but my problem continues. Today I took the whole thing out of the soil and the stem and root system are weak and rotten looking. There is no foul smell but I was wondering if there is any way to save the plant. The inner part of the plant looks healthy and is still growning healthy looking leaves.

This sound like a root and crown rot. Often, wet soils set the plant up for these groups of diseases. Try to repot the best portions of the plant (after removing all of the discolored /decayed stuff) in some fresh well drained soil (avoid too much peat moss)and be careful about watering. Keep your fingers crossed and it may come back. Again, just be careful not to overwater.
Let me know how it goes!
