QuestionQUESTION: my lilac bush has something eating it from the inside i noticed it a month ago little pieces of wood near the bottom of the bush,this is an off shoot of larger bushes they seem okay.Please advise of what I should do with out spreading what ever this is.

There may be a boring type insect present in the trunk area. Can you send a photo? Try taking a picture of the bottom where you see the wood. Also, send a photo of the entire bush. A photo can be helpful in my answer.

QUESTION: Cannot send photo don't have a cellphone that takes photos,the leaves on the Bush are all curled up like it hasn't been watered,and there is little hole where it is being eaten,I hope this helps.

You may be able to get some information from your local nursery or garden center. You might carry a sample to them to show them. These folks have usually seen a lot of different stuff and may be able to ID.
Getting an appropriate insecticide to the borer that is inside the wood can be a challenge. There are a few systemics that the plant takes up through the roots. One example is imidacloprid, which is the active ingredient in several insecticides.
