QuestionThe tops of some branches of my fruitless olive tree have leaves that are dying. I also have two very large liquid amber trees that have the same problem with leaves first turning black. Glassy-winged sharp shooters have infected a large number of liquid amber trees in my area, and I assume that is the case with mine. Is it possible that my olive tree is infected by the same pest? What can I do to save the trees? I live in Redlands, CA.

Could you send along a photo of a branch with the affected leaves attached to it? Be sure to review your image on your computer first- to be sure it is in focus before sending. How old or what is the diameter at chest height of this tree. No sure about the sharpshooters, I am not aware of them causing serious damage.
