Question There seem to be small white fuzzy eggs on an arborvitae in my yard. This tree also seems to be browner and have more dread interior than usual. This dying seems to now be starting on certain ares of that show outward. Can you please tell me what this and how to treat it?
AnswerJean:
I suspect that the interior browning is normal and is related to the time of the year. Just keep an eye on it and be sure it gets a drink time to time during the winter months. We see this interior stuff on lots of evergreens/junipers etc.
On the "eggs", you can snip off a twig and carry it into your local garden cener/nursery for an Identification or you can send me a photo. If you do, be sure to review your photo on your computer before sending to be sure it is in focus. Try to get as close as you can to take the shot.
Thanks
Steve
