QuestionDear Kathy, I live in Vancouver, B.C. Canada I have a very successful Meyers Lemon in a pot. This summer I took it over to my community garden area so it could enjoy a summer outside. It did very well and increased its leaf growth by 100%. Yesterday I decided to bring it home as our winters are not right for citrus, and the fall nights now are getting cooler. I noticed that many of the leaves are yellow and some have yellow spots. A few weeks ago I did give it some mir-acid as I saw that the leaves were not the usual citrus dark green. Could there be another problem or am I just being impatient? Thank-you, Diane.
AnswerHI Diane, A meyer lemon is an everbearing citrus. It is possible, if the leaves are turning yellow more towards the center of the tree, it may be time to be putting out blossoms, then fruit. Citrus thins it leaves out usually twice a year. You may be watching it closer than other times. The tips will stay green it this is the case. Or it may be time to move it into a larger pot as it is not getting enough water. Does either of these work for you before we go into bugs? kathy
