QuestionI noticed some ants crawling on the leaves of my tree. The tree is young and I do not know if it is necessary to treat it or what to treat it with. Can you advise me on what to do? Thankyou Ellen
AnswerEllen:
Ants, by themselves should not cause any damage. I expect they are there for some other reason. They may be in search for food or maybe setting up housekeeping in a tree cavity. Check for these possibilities. If the tree looks good, then I expect no problem. Just remember to avoid any damage to the trunk and roots from lawnmowers/string trimmers etc.
