Questionthe leaves are falling off, limbs and foliage have a small white tiny looking thing on them, all I ever do if fertilize them. can I save them, or is it to late, they are about 6 feet tall and 4 yrs old. what should I do?
AnswerLen:
In my part of the world, scale insects are the big issue. Small white "specks" usually on the underside of the leaf. Scale insects can be a real problem- perhaps the major insect pest on these shrubs. Pull off a few of these leaves and carry by your local garden center or nursery to get these identified correctly. If it is scale, consider insecticides such as Orthene or Bayer Advanced Garden Tree and Shrub Insect Control as a solution.
