QuestionWe have just noticed a thick white growth starting on the exposed roots of our Red Top Legustrum and growing up the tree truck. The tree is approx 20 yr old and very tall. What should we do??

This growth may be a type of mushroom or other fungus on the roots. It may or may not be causing a problem. Removing it by hand will not make it go away- just maybe look better for awhile. If the plant looks good and the growth doesn't bother you- I wouldn't bother with it. Just keep the plant water and fertilized well.
