QuestionI have a 12 yr old jade tree - that I thought was doing great - it had lots of branches, some spilling over the pt. The main trunk was large - but last week the tree fell over - and where the trunk snapped in half it was mushy. Could you tell me what happened?
AnswerMary Ann:
Good Morning. If the stem fell over as a result of the mushy area, then there may be a fungus disease causing a stem rot present. If feasible, try to remove the affected portions by pruning out the bad stuff. Be sure not to over-water the plant and try to keep the plant surfaces dry.
