QuestionMy 30 year old pepper tree has suddenly developed dry and dead branches and the new growth is not healthy looking. And I have noticed tumor like things are all over the trunk and the bark is dry and flakey is this a disease?
AnswerKevin:
From your description, there may be some internal problems to the trunk and/or branches. These may be insect or disease related. Depending on the height and accessibility, try to prune out the affect branches and discard. Not so sure about the tumors- if possible take and send a closeup and distant photo of these structures. Be sure the photos are in focus by reviewing them on your computer before sending.
