QuestionI have a Jonagold apple I planted a year ago. It seems to be growing very well - new growth this year about 14" - 18". But, the leaves on the tree are curling up around the spine of the leaf. About 20 feet away, I have a Honeycrisp tree, also growing well, but it does not exhibit the same problem.
I checked for aphids and there are none. Is this normal for the Jonagold? Or is there maybe some soil component missing?
Thanks,
Rich

If leaves are curling w/o any discoloration- may indicate an insect or environmental stress. Carry a few of these leaves to your garden center or local nursery and get someone to look at them. You can also contact your local county Extension office - a great resource as well. These folks usually have someone trained to recognize these problems.
