krauter vesuvius flowering plum and diseases

Question
We have a krauter vesuvius flowering plum and it appears to be dying.  Leaves have an orange tint and are wilted (as if it was not getting enough water).  It doesn't appear to be attacked by ants, and I don't see any scales.

We have several of these trees..  One appears really sick and another is starting to look bad.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Gary

Answer
Gary:
If the whole tree looks in trouble, check out the trunk area, especially in the area near the soil. Look for evidence of bark wounds or areas where bark is loose or appears damaged/injured. This may have been an entry point for insects or diseases in the past- which may be a terminal situation.  The only way to deal w/ these issues is to prevent an type of wound- especially from lawnmowers or stringtrimmers. If the trunk looks intact, check soil for dryness concerns. Supplemental water may be necessary if it has been exceptionally dry in your area.
