Question
I have a large crop of fruit ,however the tree has already shed quite a lot of fruit,the fruit it has shed is very small ,hard,red and drops on touch from the branch

Hi james,  Being we are in different countries if it is a disease I have no idea what pest you may have there.  However, certain conditions would be the same, such as, watering on a regular basis.  If you do not water on a weekly basis and it rains a lot you can loose your fruit.  Poor pollination could also cause fruit loss.  You may also have a fungus in the flower that causes this problem.  Best to check with the Dept of Agriculture in your area which you can find many of the answers on line.  Also, it could be the variety of the plum that is causing the problem and they would best be able to tell you.  kathy
