Wisconsin Oak Tree (White)

Question
QUESTION: For the past few years my oak grows leaves which appear normal.  Then later in the spring and progressing until fall the leaves begin to turn rusty brown. This discoloration does not include the veins which remain green. The rust rises through the center of the tree to the crown. The outer most leaves have rusty spots and are yellow in coloring.By fall, some lower bracnches are barron of leaves. Interestingly, this oak grew from an acorn of another oak which eventually was cut down due to this same problem. That oak stood about 10 feet from the current oak. An arborist has injected the current tree with vitamins for multiple years in the fall without any difference. She also recommended that we water the tree frequently and that hasn't helped either. We live in an area where lannon stone comes to the surface in many areas. All of our trees have been treated on multiple occasions for girdling. I hope that you might be able to help. Thank-you.

ANSWER: Mary:
Could you send one or two digital photos of the leaves and the overall tree? I may have a better idea if I could see an image.  You can send them as an attachment. Review them on your computer to be sure they are in focus BEFORE sending.

Thanks for your inquiry.

QUESTION: Here is an example of how the leave damage is proceeding, I seem to be only be able to attach one image...

Answer
Mary:
These leaf symptoms indicate a potential root dysfunction -possible contact or uptake of an injurious material. Review any chemical applications that may have been made directly to the foliage or to the soil. Don't see any evidence of a bona fide plant disease here- suspect it is related to an unfavorable root environment.
