QuestionI noticed tonight that there are a lot of white spots on the zucchini leaves. I don't see any bugs, and there are no holes in the leaves. We have quite a bit of rain in the last few days, with some sun the 13th, 14th and today. It's warmed to the high 70's today with the sun. I have them mulched with grass clippings and leaves. They are just starting to bloom, also. Can you help?
AnswerHi Leroy,
I believe your zucchinis have powdery mildew, which is a somewhat mild fungal infection. A fungicide should be used whether you prefer to use a chemical or go the eco-friendly way and spray milk on the leaves. Milk is effective for mildews and blackspot if you spray and repeat in a week or two - good thing is you can never apply too much to the leaves and it doesn't cost as much!
