some of my pine trees are dying,the biggest thing i notice is the thousand of tiny round holes all over the really sick ones,almost look like woodpecker holes but arent.i live in upstate ny.seems once the tree is dead,no more green left to the tree,mossy looking material starts to grow.HELP PLEASE

Do you see the leader of the trees bending to form a hook shape? These holes usually indicate the presence of a borer which is an insect that penetrates the branch and moves through the tree internally, ultimately killing the tree. If you do see the hook symptom and these holes you definitely want to apply Bayer Shrub and Tree care to your soil to kill the insect inside your Pine tissue. I believe this product lasts for a year, and since this insect can remain in the soil I would apply yearly to protect your remaining trees.
