Question
Why are most of the leaves half the size and curling?shriveling? One branch has almost the right sized leaf. It appeared to be slow in getting the leaves this year as well. There is no evidence in the curled leaves of any aphids/bugs. Otherwise it has been a healthy tree we have had for 8 yrs. Our winter was a harsh one.

Sometimes excessive moisture due to a harsh winter followed by a rapid warming trend will bring the nematodes out and they will feed on the root systems.  Usually when I see leaf and fruit disruption I associate it with nutrient disrupton.  Sometimes you cant see these bacteria that feed on your trees nutrient flow.  And you definetly cant see them when they are feeding on your root systems.
