Japanese Red Maple Leaves

We recently purchased a Japanese Red Maple that was doing great until I noticed today the tips of all of the leaves
are brown. There are also a couple of branches that have also turned from brown. Is this from over or under watering? Plant seems to be moist. We have used Miracle Grow on it when watering, could that cause it?

Hi Mary, Japanese Red Maples are under story trees that like high bright light or dappled shade. They grow under other trees. Also if you read the label on Miracle Grow you will see that salt and chlorine are in the product. It will eventually kill your plants. It is always the safest to use a slow release fertilizer that are minor nutrients rather than chemicals. kathy
