Pittosporum

Question
We have a row of 20 pittosporum green pillar variety and live in NSW Australia (were it is Autumn and increasingly getting cold). The plants have been in for two and half years, have grown to over 2 metres and were looking quite healthy. Just recently we noticed the leaves on one plant had turned brown, then over two days the entire foliage fell off. There are little brown dots on the undeleaf of the ones next to the plant and green little bugs like afids. We have used a product called confidor, but are concerned there is a disease which may spread to other plants and result in defoliation. We are anxious to try anything so as not to loose our hedge. Can you suggest any possible solutions?

Answer
Hello Australia!  I wish I was there surfing right now.

It sounds like Aphids or an insect similar.  Either way the insects are sucking the juices out of your leaves.  Leaves of the plant are sugar factories that the plant needs to synthesize proteins for reproduction, cell division and growth.

There is a new product on the market that the University of Florida is testing with great results on Ornamentals.

Go to www.atomicgrow.net and order this product for your Pitts.  It is all natural.

I would not recommend any more toxic chemicals as your plants are weak and becoming weaker.

I have used Atomic Grow and it rocks.  It will clean up your problems and increase your sugar levels at the same time.  There is no other product on the market that does both.

Good Luck Have an Aussie good day mate!

James
