QuestionHI, I have a braided money tree, and a while ago I noticed yellow mushrooms
growing out of the soil. I repotted it, but now around the base of the trunk
some white mould-looking stuff has started growing, and occasionally a
yellow mushroom starts to grow. The leaves have started getting spotted with
yellow and brown, and it is not growing like it used to. How can I get my
plant healthy again? Is it safe to wash the roots completely of soil and start
from scratch, or will this kill my plant? Any advice on how to get rid of the
fungus and mould would really help me.
AnswerHi Erin, What you have is the soil is breaking down and turning into rich soil. I do not worry about mushrooms. Sounds like too much water to me. You could also use Atomic Grow or Pure Neem Oil spray to protect your plant from indoor bugs. Both are organic and will not hurt you. kathy
