Palm Springs Lemon Tree Disease

Hello. We live in Palm Springs CA and our lemon tree has a disease. The leaves have a curly snail-like trail (white crusty trails) and the leaves are curling and dying. Please help. Paul

Hi Paul, You have leaf minor on your trees. Here in FL we trim off the new growth with the bug on it, you can fertilize when it is cooler as the leaf minor comes out when it is hot. You can plant a guava tree near it which is working in other countries. Check out guava and leaf minor on the web to find out more about it. As the leaf minor lays here eggs every seven days it is impossible to stop. Other than being ugly for awhile till the old leaves fall off and the new one come back on, we learn to live with it. kathy
