Question
I have a rose tree and the leave are falling off.  I have sprayed for Afids but the branches are getting more and more bare, even the ones that have new buds.  Some of the leaves are turning yellow.  The tree is planted in a large pot and my husband just fed it recently.  Please help.

Hi Nancy, you may have a few problems.  A newly planted plant does not need as much water as one that has been in its pot for awhile.  Remember the plant dries from the outside of the pot in so many times just watering the outside edge is sufficient.  Also if it is loosing its leaves it could be from the fertilizer, make sure you use a slow release type.  

If you plant is sitting in a dish of water, it will need to be emptied 15 minutes after planting as it will cause root rot.  kathy
