Questioni have a blood good maple tress 9 years old. This summer I noticed part of the tree leaves were shriveled up and dead. my husband cut off that part of the tree. As of Sept. the same thing is happening to another part of the tree and on the trunk of the tree and moving up about a foot or so theres what looks like a white fungus. Is there anything we can do to save the tree? Will this affect other shrubs or trees?
AnswerHi there. It sounds like verticillium wilt in your tree. Due to the large amount of info and pics you should google this yourself.
The white fungus sounds like your have dead bark on the trunk. See if it is attached to the tree or pulls off. Let me know. Thanks,Bill
