QuestionMy horses have chewed the bark off the bottom of my oak tree including the bark on some of it's above ground roots. There are now three or four spots that are oozing black stuff and the bees and ants are eating at the roots. what can I do to save this tree?
AnswerHi there: It sounds like either wetwood disease or borers.Take a brush and some water and clean the area where the sap is oozing from. If it's wetwood you won't see anything. If it's borers you should see a small hole. Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Hope this helps,Bill
