QuestionWe are attempting to grow a mango fruit tree in Greece. The plant looked very healthy and then suddenly some leaves started drying out, but only half of the leaf while the rest of the same leaf tip remains healthy. Could this be because of too much water? (Other tropical fruit trees have survived in Greece.)
AnswerHi Mary.. the first thing that comes to mind is fertilizer burn. It could easily burn the tip and not the rest of the leaf. Make sure you use a slow release fertilizer. Mangos do like water as long as the drainage is good. Mangos are also used to humidity so this could be another issue. I have never been to Greece and growing conditions may be different than from here in Florida and the tropics where they originate from...
