QuestionDo you know of any cure for verticillim wilt or fusarium in tomatoe plants? If so please give me the name of the fungicide and or chemical compound.
AnswerThere are no chemical controls for either of these fungal vascular wilts in tomato. There are many resistant varieties available which have resistance to both diseases. If you are growing heirloom tomatoes, which are all susceptible, you may have to move to another place to grow your tomatoes. These fungi reside in the soil and will not go away. There is a liquid fumigant called Vapam that can be used to treat the soil but it is hard to find and is not a 100% control. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Good Luck.
