Fiddle Leaf Fig

Question
I revently purchased a Fiddle leaf Fig,there were 4 plants for sale, all about the same size and all with curious red pigmentation on the new leaf growth.(very little on the older leaves)I asked about it and was told that it was normal.I wonder now if that is the case as I do not see this on pictures of other fig plants.I have checked it very closely and it definately does not have red spider mites. The pigmentation is lage splotches but the leaves appear healthy.Any answers ? Thanks

Answer
Some reddish coloration on the new growth may be normal, but should go away as the leaves mature.  It depends on where the figs were grown, by whom, and how they fertilized, etc.  If the leaves look healthy, I would not worry too much about the color unless they begin to turn brown or black.  Good Luck.
