QuestionHi,
Was wondering if you can offer some answers. I have had a peace lily for 2 years, it was growing beautifully all this time. Just recently, half the foliage dropped so that it is almost completely limp, and all over the plant the leaves have dropped, even where the stalks are still upright. I thought the water-catching dish was getting too 'mucky' as it was plastic, so after this happened I changed it to a ceramic dish to help avoid any overwatering issues--since then the issues havent gotten worse, but haven't improved either. I do live in Central Florida, where we have the windows shut and the A/C at a steady 75/80 degrees all the time. It gets fed regularly...I hope you can help?
AnswerPeace lilies are hard to keep for a long time inside. I would try misting the leaves once per day with clean fresh water. Maintain even soil moisture, not too wet and not too dry. If any of the leaves die, cut them off. This happens often with peace lilies. Watch the new growth to see that it is healthy looking. Do not move the plant to a different environment at this time. Sit back and wait to see what happens next. Your situation is not unique and I would just watch the plant over the next couple of weeks. I put mine in the corner of the shower and let the mist coat the leaves several times per week. This seems to keep it fairly healthy. Good Luck.
