QuestionWhy is it necessary to rotate crops on a farm when in nature the same plants keep coming up year after year in the same locations?
AnswerHi Gene..the best way to answer this question is plants that keep coming up year after year you would not have to rotate, like black berry, raspberry, etc. The crops you would rotate are the vegetables like corn, beans, etc. as that confuses the bugs who attact these plants, letting the grower be more organic and not depend on poison. Another reason would be certain plants take certain nutrients out of the soil and other may add so by rotating you do not deplete the soil and give it a chance to mend itself.
