QuestionI recently purchased a cabin in Northern CA at ~5000ft elevation and noticed that the oak trees in the area have a fungus(?) on the leaves and I want to know if there is anything I should do about it or be concerned with. It doesn't seem as prevalant on the new leaves that sprout from the trunk. The leaves seem to decompose with the wind. I have a picture I can send, but I didnt see a way to attach it to this submission.
AnswerA picture would be helpful. There should be a place at the bottom of the question page to attach a picture. If you can net find it you can e-mail pictures to me at

It sounds like leaf spot fungi IF so there is nothing to be worried about since these fungi will not kill the tree and the worst thing they may do is cause the leaves to drop a little sooner than normal.
