QuestionI moved into a new home 3 weeks ago and have noted that the weeping willow trunk looks as though something has borrowed holes all over the trunk. I do not "see" insects and the leaves are present-any idea what the cause is and how to treat?
Thank you!!
AnswerHi how are you? There are a few things that can make this happen to a tree. The tree could have a bore insect of some type which left untreated can kill your tree.It may also be a bird called a sapsucker which will do this to the bark and leave holes on the bark but wont kill the tree.I would have a Certified Arborist come out and look at the tree to find out what is the problem and do treatment if treatment is needed. It is better to be safe then sorry
