AnswerThe melon may have a virus, which can cause the type of symptom you describe. See if you have had aphid or whitefly insects on the plants. These two insects can transmit viruses to the plant. Other bugs can do this as well. If the fruit are mishappen or not colored right, this may be the case. If so, there is nothing you can do. They may make normal looking fruit and then again they might not. If you have several and only one or two are showing this symptom, get rid of those that do. Keep insects off with routine insecticide sprays with safer's soap or neem. If this does not seem to be the case, please respond back and we can go in another direction. I hope this helps. Good Luck.
