QuestionHello Kathy,
I have discovered a powdery white mildew on everything in my yard. It is not limited to any one plant. It is on my lawn, roses, pansies, the weeds, raspberry plants, trees, blackberries, strawberries, lilies, in my vegetable garden, etc.. Any idea of how I can get rid of it, with it having such a large area, and not hurt any of my plants, or the living creatures that live here? I don't even know where it came from, or how it got started. It wasn't here, like this, three years ago.
Sincerely, Katherine
AnswerHi Katherine...white mildew usually occurs as the weather gets damper. You need to spray with Neem or an insectical, fungal spray. The Neem is great as it does not wash off for continued protection. Safe to pets and humans too. It is a fungicide, miticide and for anything that chews or sucks the life out of our plants. It must have been going on for awhile to have it that extensive over everything. If you are using over head sprinklers, I suggest spraying by hand or drip irrigation. Water lying on leaves of plants makes them more susceptible to disease.
