QuestionQUESTION: hi there, i am pretty sure that my pomegranate tree has a fungus. the fruit is splitting early and most have the telltale black spots (but not on the leaves).i read that copper fungicide is an effective solution. is it too late to apply this to my tree? i live in tucson, arizona and the average temp. these days is 100+ degrees. help.
ANSWER: If there are unaffected fruit on the tree, it is not too late. The copper could cause some leaf burn if applied in the heat of the day. Apply just before dark so it can go through the night at cooler temps. You will need to treat again in 7-10 days. Good Luck.

QUESTION: hi there, i have yet another question! along the border of one of my fences in the backyard are quarter sized holes. there are several. am i dealing with a kangaroo rat? and how do i get rid of these guys? i live in tucson, arizona. thanks!
AnswerI am afraid I have no experience with this situation. I live in Mississippi and we have moles and voles that make raised runs in the yard. I am not familiar with kangaroo rats. A good cat or dog may help some. You might check at local garden centers for repellants for rodents and other small animals. Sorry I can be of no help on this one. Good Luck Anyway.
