Question
I planted my first peony last fall.  It finally started to grow but the leaves are turning black.  The bush is very young and has only has one stem.  Can you tell me what is wrong?

Peony is hard to grow.  If you are in the wrong environment they will not survive.  Sounds like the plant may be getting too much water and is developing a root rot.  Cut back on the water some and pull off the black leaves.  Watch the new growth and see if it improves.  I hope this helps sovle the problem.  Thanks
