QuestionI recently planted an October Glory Maple tree and I notice the leaves seem to be turning brown on the edges and the leaf looks as though something is eating it. This is not the case however, could this be some sort of a fungus or is it stress from planting? Thanks for your answer. Jack Dillon
AnswerMaples are bad about doing what you describe. It is probably stress from transplanting. I would not do anything except keep it watered adequately and give it a light dose of slow release tree fertilizer. The tree will probably be fine. Dont be surprised if you see this happen every year. Make sure you dont overwater as this will make the situation worse. Good Luck.
