QuestionAbout 10 years ago I was given an indoor tree. It looks like a palm, but it has a thick trunk and large crown of big leaves. Two years ago I moved to a new office, and the conference room is dark, and the tree has been going downhill. I took it home this week, to repot and let it have the NJ summer outside in my yard. When I took it out of the pot, it just came out, and most of the roots remained in the pot. I repotted it in good planting soil, and staked it so that it won't fall over. Can you help me identify this plant and does it have a chance?
AnswerYou will need to send me a picture of the plant. If possible send to
[email protected] with a subject line of All Experts so my kids wont delete your message. The lack of roots is not good, but the plant can probably be saved if it has been in a pot that long. I await your email. Thanks.
