QuestionI planted several flats of flowering vinca a month ago, and they were growing great. All of a sudden, they are wilting and dying right before my eyes! Each bed located in different parts of the yard have at least 5 to 6 dying. Most of the ones dying seem to be in a row, with one starting, followed by a domino effect. I have never had problems with vinca before. Is it too late to stop the dying?
Help!

AnswerPull up the dying ones and look at the root system. Sounds like a root rot to me. Look for dark or black roots and even white fungal frowth on the stem. Watch the water as they can withstand dry conditions very well. Go buy some Daconil fungicide and mix 2-3 teaspoons in a gallon of water and then pour about a quarter to a half of a cup (depending on size), around each plant. This should stop most root rots. Good Luck.
