Question
Do you know how much of an Oleander plant it takes to die from? My friend and I are arguing about it. :)

HI Alex...I don't know if there is an answer for that question.  It depends on your size and weight.  A child would be more apt to be killed from it.  For sure it is poison but there is no record as to the deaths involved, much of which could be just tales passed along.  It can make you ill if you burn it and breath in the smoke, don't use it to cook your outdoor hotdogs on, etc.  I have many planted around the nursery here and have no one around that would abuse the plant, so I don't worry about it.  Check out snopes.com and they can add to my story but typing in the title oleander poisoning.
