QuestionWe live in Savannah, GA and have a Bradford Pear planted about 2 yrs ago, and a Crape Myrtle that was planted about 1.5 yr ago. Lately both plants have been losing there leaves on about half of the plant. We have been watering them daily, put tree food in the ground, but it doesn't seem to be helping. There isn't any soot or discoloration to the leaves, the leaves are green and healthy looking until they fall to the ground for both plants. Any suggestions as to what I can do to save my plants would be great.
Thanks,
Abbie
AnswerCheck the base of each plant near the soil line and look for wounds that may have been caused by a lawn mower or weed eater. If you see areas where the bark has been knocked off that may explain why one side of the plant is losing leaves. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait and see how well the plant heals itself. Good Luck.
