QuestionI have a camellia bush which has (at the tips of some limbs) larger, waxy, curled or mis-shapen, discolored leaves. I've never seen this before on the bush. What is it? What causes it? And how do I get rid of it?
AnswerIt is a fungal disease called camellia leaf gall. The recommended control is to pick off all the affected leaves and throw them in the trash. If left on the bush, the galls will dry up and fall on the ground and the disease will happen again next spring. It will not kill your plant but may interfere with blossom quality. Good Luck.
