QuestionI'm having problems with this plant. The leaves on my coast leucothoe are dying back starting at the tip. On the leaves a distinct purple border is next to the brown dead tissue and the green tissue. Have any suggestions what it is? I could send pictures if that would help
AnswerThe problem could be either sunburn or a fungus. If the plant is in medium direct sunlight I would eliminate too much sun as the cause. Look at the leaf tip carefully. If you can see any little brown or black dots in the brown tissue, then I would say it is a fungal disease. Please respond back with your observations and I will make a recommendation for treatment. Pictures would help. Please send to
