QuestionHi , I had a thriving stephanotis in my conservatory. It was doing really well and flowering magnificently. Nothing changed and then suddenly all the leaves went yellow and dropped off and some of the vine stem just seems dead. Anything I can do? London UK
AnswerStephanotis is really sensitive to overwatering. My guess is that over the winter the plant received too much water and is now thowing off leaves as a result. There may even be some root rot involved. Cut back on the water. The plant requires little water and loves bright light but protected from hot sun. Try to root a piece to get another plant going just in case. If the potting soil is a heavy water-holding soil, re-pot the plant into a lighter potting soil with better drainage. Good Luck.
