QuestionHi,
I have a mature Clivia that has independently spawned three new plants all in the same 12" pot. I also have two two leave shoots that grew from fallen seeds. Some of my leaves had what appeared to be brownscale which I removed two weeks ago with Clorox wipes (!). It has not returned and the plants seem none the worse for wear -- however, I am eagerly hoping for a bloom from the mother plant which was growing a shoot that seemed to have rotted six months ago. I believe it was overwatered by a caretaker while I was out of town.
1. Could this be related to the brownscale?
2. Should I repot?
3. Having never done the latter, if I remove from the pot, what's the best medium to use?
4. Should I separate the family or keep a couple in each new home?
5. What else can you advise?
Thanks so much! Elaine
AnswerDo a google search for Clivia plant and go the second or third link listed from Shield's Gardens. They have a wonderfully informative website all about Clivia care and culture. I think you will find all the information you ever wanted to know about your plant.
